An app designed to connect young entrepreneurs in a social and dynamic way. This app was created as a capstone project for a UX Intensive course I took. We spent roughly a month working on the app, starting with the ideation stages, moving through the low-fi wireframes and user journeys and personas until we had a finished prototype.

Hi Fidelity Prototype

We began by interviewing entrepreneurs in South Africa as well as young American entrepreneurs about their goals, frustrations, and needs and formed insights from these interviews. We also performed a market analyses and found that while there are many apps on the market for young entrepreneurs, they lacked empathy.

Personas and Journey Maps

We created several personas and journey maps to help us better understand our user base.

Low Fidelity Wireframes

We narrowed down our app to include four features that we deemed the most important: Profile, Newsfeed, Community, and Chat.

My Profile

The biography was split from interests so that other users could easily skim profiles to find people who share their interests.

Social media links were added to help users get a better idea of who other users are.

Version 3

My Feed

Articles were split into categories based on the user's interests. This makes the feed more personal and relevant to each individual user.

Users were given the opportunity to edit their interests directly from their feed to make customization quicker and more convenient.

My Feed

The map styling was added to the community feature to encourage users to connect with people nearby them.

During usability testing, we found users felt community was separate from messages or saved content, so we split them out in the navigation bar.

Moving Forward

My group spent the majority of the four weeks in the research, ideation, and low fidelity design and testing stages. We were proud of the app's concept and functionality, but felt we needed to test the high fidelity prototype more thoroughly and iterate further on both the branding and visual style as well as the high fidelity prototype.
